Terms of Service

These Terms govern manga editorial review services purchased from Manga Clinic. Please read them before submitting your manga and completing payment.

EFFECTIVE DATE · AUGUST 12, 2026
By clicking “Pay & Submit” and completing payment, you agree to these Terms and the Cancellation & Refund Policy. Mandatory rights under applicable law are not excluded.

1. Eligibility and authority

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract. You must own the submitted work or have sufficient authorization from the rights holder to submit it for editorial review.

2. Service

Manga Clinic provides written editorial analysis, professional opinion, and revision guidance for manga and related story materials. The service is advisory: you remain responsible for all creative, legal, and business decisions.

Unless separately agreed in writing, the service does not include writing or drawing on your behalf, translation or lettering, direct editing of manuscript files, publisher introductions or representation, legal advice, or unlimited correspondence.

3. Review plans

One-shot Review · USD 299

Up to 20 pages. Includes editorial diagnosis, top revision priorities, character and structure review, page-level notes, and one follow-up question.

Full Review · USD 599

Up to 60 pages. Includes detailed editorial diagnosis, scene- and page-level notes, character and structure review, market positioning, revision planning, and one follow-up question.

The plan, price, page limit, and other conditions shown at checkout govern your order unless Manga Clinic agrees otherwise in writing.

4. Submission, payment, and acceptance

You may submit your manuscript and pay in one step. Payment is processed through Stripe. Your order is subject to Manga Clinic’s review for availability, scope, content, language, conflicts of interest, and suitability.

Manga Clinic will notify you whether your project is accepted or declined within 3 business days after submission and payment.

If Manga Clinic cannot accept the project, the order will be cancelled and the amount paid for that review will be refunded in full to the original payment method.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate project and payment information.
  • Submit readable, complete files within the selected plan limit.
  • Disclose relevant sensitive content.
  • Maintain backup copies of all files.
  • Respond to necessary questions within a reasonable time.

Incorrect page counts, unreadable or incomplete files, expanded scope, or delayed responses may require a revised delivery date, cancellation, or an additional quotation.

6. Delivery

Standard reviews are delivered within 7 business days after payment, acceptance of the project, and receipt of all required materials, unless another delivery date is displayed or agreed in writing. Delivery is made electronically by email or private link.

7. Follow-up question

One follow-up question directly related to the delivered review is included. It does not include review of a substantially revised manuscript, additional pages, another project, rewriting, translation, redrawing, or ongoing consultation.

8. Editorial judgment; no guarantee

Feedback is professional editorial opinion based on the submitted materials and Manga Clinic’s editorial experience. Manga Clinic does not guarantee publication, serialization, acceptance by a publisher or platform, awards, sales, audience growth, representation, or commercial success.

9. Copyright and report use

You retain copyright and ownership of your submitted work. Manga Clinic retains copyright in its original report wording, evaluation frameworks, templates, and educational materials.

You may use the delivered report privately to develop your project. You may not sell, publish the report in full, redistribute it, or use it to train an artificial-intelligence system without written permission.

10. Confidentiality and generative AI

Unpublished manuscripts are treated as confidential. Manga Clinic will not publicly display your manuscript, identify you as a client, or use your project as a case study without separate permission.

Submitted manuscripts will not be uploaded to generative-AI services without your explicit prior permission.

11. Prohibited material and conduct

Manga Clinic may decline or terminate an order involving illegal material, infringement of third-party rights, sexual content depicting or involving minors, fraudulent claims of ownership, threats, harassment, fraud, abusive conduct, or instructions facilitating serious wrongdoing.

12. Cancellation and refunds

The Cancellation & Refund Policy forms part of these Terms. If Manga Clinic cannot accept your project, your payment will be refunded in full.

For cancellation purposes, “editorial work begins” means the point at which the assigned editor begins the substantive review of your manuscript. Administrative intake, payment processing, and the acceptance check do not themselves constitute the start of substantive editorial work. Customer-requested cancellation before substantive editorial work begins is eligible for a full refund.

13. File retention

Manuscript and working files are ordinarily deleted within 90 days after delivery. Materials relating to declined or cancelled orders are ordinarily deleted within 90 days after the decision. Transaction, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal records may be retained as required or reasonably necessary.

14. Third-party services

Manga Clinic may use Carrd for website hosting, Tally for submissions, Stripe for payment processing, Gmail for communication, Google Drive for file delivery or storage, and similar providers necessary to operate the service. Their processing is also subject to their own terms and privacy practices.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Manga Clinic is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages arising from the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability relating to a specific paid review will not exceed the amount paid for that review, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.

16. Events outside reasonable control

Manga Clinic is not responsible for delays caused by events outside reasonable control, including serious illness, natural disaster, major system failure, government action, or interruption of essential infrastructure. If performance becomes impossible, an appropriate refund will be provided.

17. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Summary Court will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, depending on the nature and value of the claim, unless mandatory consumer-protection or jurisdiction rules provide otherwise.

18. Changes

These Terms may be updated when necessary. The version in effect when you place an order generally governs that order unless a change is required by law or separately agreed.
